Chemical base: Are based on all groups of products to which water-soluble polymers have been added. Its characteristic feature is ability to extinguish either polar liquids such as methanol, aceton or typical hydrocarbon fuels like petrol, oil, paraffin.
When used on polar solvents, this concentrate forms a polymeric membrane, also called 'film', which separates foam from the fuel and prevents destruction of the foam blanket. When used on hydrocarbon fuels, these concentrates create the same aqueous film as standard AFFF agents. Alcohol resistant agents are used mainly in chemical plants and during loading of leaded and uleaded petrol.
